"Two very pretty and interesting weddings were solemnised in St. James' Church, Jamestown, on the first of June. In both instances the parties were well known in the township. The bride, in the first wedding referred to was Miss Kate Hogan, and the bridegroom Mr. Terence Haren—both belonging to families that are always foremost in affairs pertaining to the Church, and thus the large congregation assembled to witness the marriage was very representative. The church had been tastefully decorated by the Children of Mary, of which society the bride was a member. The bride was escorted to the altar rails by Mr. T. Haren, who gave her away. She was attired in white Japanese silk, trimmed with chiffon silk lace and faggot stitching on silk, court train trimmed with silk lace and orange blossoms, veil, and wreath, &c. The bridesmaid, Miss Bessie Hogan—sister of the bride, was dressed in silk voile trimmed with be be ribbon and chiffon, black picture hat of velvet and plumes Mr. John Haren, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The marriage ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Kirby, and as the bridal party left the church amidst the many warm congratulations of their friends, the Wedding March was played by Miss J. Kildea, whilst during the Nuptial Mass St. James' choir rendered some choice and select pieces. The wedding breakfast was partaken of at the Commercial Hotel, where 40 guests assembled, and Father Doyle proposed the health of the happy couple. The party adjourned to one. of Mr. Murphy's large reception rooms, where music, singing and merriment of all descriptions were indulged in, until about 4.30 p.m., when a start was made for the railway station, as the bridal party were booked to leave by the 5 train for Adelaide, where they intend spending their. honeymoon. The bride's travelling dress was dark blue flake voile, trimmed with silk braid and chenille hat. There was a demonstration on the departure of the train, the couple being very popular."

"Wedding Bells.
A very, pretty wedding was celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, Kooringa, Burra, on Wednesday, May 28, when Mr. John Haren, Tilti, Jamestown, was united in matrimony to Miss Susanna Fahey, eldest daughter of Mr. Patrick Fahey, Brayfoot. The ceremony was performed by the Very Rev. Father Doyle, Jamestown, in the presence of a large gathering of friends of the bride and bridegroom. The bride was richly and becomingly attired in white silk, flowered chiffon, yoke sleeves, with wreath and veil, and carried a beautiful bouquet of white roses and maidenhair fern, and looked charming. The bridesmaids were Miss M. M. Howley, Spalding, cousin of the bridegroom; Miss Fahey, sister of the bride; and Miss O'Gorman, cousin. Misses Howley and Fahey were dressed in blue voile, and Miss O'Gorman wore cream silk, all three carrying pink and white rose plumes. The bridegroom was attended by his nephew (Mr. Michael Pilkington), Mr. Fahey (brother of the bride), and Mr. W. Fahey (her uncle). The bride was escorted to the altar rails by her father, who in due time gave her away. During the Mass the young couple received Holy Communion, and the nuptial blessing being imparted, the happy pair left the church amidst the cheery congratulations of their numerous friends, the "Wedding March" being played by Miss Maggie Tobin, Kooringa. After the ceremony the wedding party adjourned to the Aberdeen Hotel, where Host Naylon had prepared a sumptuous spread, and to which a great number sat down, all being friends of the bride and bridegroom. In the unavoidable absence of Father Doyle, who had to leave for Jamestown immediately the knot was tied, Mr. James Erwin (brother-in-law of the bridegroom), in a happy speech proposed the health of the young couple. Mr. Haren responded in felicitous terms on behalf of the bride and himself. Mr. Terence Haren then gave the toast of "The Bridesmaids," which was acknowledged by Mr. M. Pilkington. The health of the parents was given by Mr. Timothy Haren, and responded to by the father of the bride. Mr. Cal. Pilkington, in a humorous speech, proposed the toast of chivalrous "Host Naylon," which, needless to add, was drunk with the air, " For He's a Jolly Good Fellow." The wedding presents were numerous, being the best practical proof of the esteem, respect, and veneration in which the young pair were held by their legion of friends and wellwishers. After exchanging farewells, the bride proceeded to don her travelling dress, which was grey tweed, trimmed in velvet shades and silk braid, with cream hat trimmed with tinted plumes. The bridal party was next escorted by a large number of relatives and friends to the Burra railway station, where they were booked to leave by the 3.10 p.m. train for Adelaide. Hence, amidst kind felicitations, heartfelt good wishes, and showers of rice, the happy couple quickly boarded the down express, and were soon out of sight, off to the Eastern States, the land of honeymoons."

"Wedding Bells.
A pretty wedding was celebrated by the Rev. Father Ryan in St. Canice's Church, Snowtown, on 29th ult.; Miss Kathleen McCormack, daughter of Mr and Mrs M. McCormack, “ Hillside," Percyton, and Mr Frank J. Butler (of Parilla), son of Mr and Mrs Butler, Port Pirie, being the contracting parties. Sunshine prevailed, which was much appreciated after the uncertain weather of the previous week. The bride— charmingly robed in white satin, with overdress of ninon, bodice of Honiton lace, and court train —presented a dainty appearance, wearing orthodox veil, with mob cap and orange blossoms. Her sister, Miss Norah McCormack, acted as first bridesmaid, wearing embossed rose velvet, with overdress of champagne ninon, black velvet hat, with dainty pink rose and black streamers. She was assisted by Miss Dollie Butler, sister of the bridegroom, who was attired in embossed rose velvet, veiled with blue ninon, black velvet hat wreathed with tiny pink and blue forgetmenots. Each bridesmaid wore a beautiful aquamarine ring, gift of the bridegroom. Mr Peter Butler, as first groomsman, was assisted by Mr Vincent McCormack. The bride entered the church on her father’s arm, carrying a bouquet of white camellias and hyacinths. The aisle was decorated with arches of fern, and white flowers, with wedding bells interspersed; together with festooning, this presented a light and artistic effect, and the initials of the bride and bridegroom over the altar rails completed a very pretty scheme, earned out by the girl friends of the bride. Mrs Jos. Kelly (sister) presided at the organ. Webb’s Mass in G was rendered by full choir, under the. baton of Mr Denis Madigan, of Hawker, uncle of the bride. The Wedding March was played as the bridal party left the church. At “Hillside,” the charming residence of Mr and Mrs McCormack, the reception: and breakfast took place. Mrs McCormack, mother of the bride, wore a handsome black American satin costume; Mrs Butler, bride groom’s mother, wore a navy tailored coat and skirt; Mrs Jos. Kelly, black cheviot serge coat and skirt; Mrs Stairs, black resilda; Mrs.N. R. Michael, black grenadine; Mrs P. Haren, Naridy, navy costume; Mrs D. Madigan, Hawker, black; Mrs J. C. Clifford, silk poplin; Mrs J. B. Coulthard, electric blue chevoit serge; Mrs A. E. Dawes, Adelaide, black; Miss G, T. Madigan, violet military coat and skirt; Miss McNamara, Peake, navy diagonal cloth, black trimmings; Miss Josey Kelly, grey crepe de chine; Miss Irene Pilkington, cream serge; Miss Nora Evans, grey cravenette coat and skirt; Miss Cissie Haren, cream serge; Nurse Evans, grey tweed coat and skirt, military effect; Miss Starrs, black poplin; Miss Dolly Moloney, navy blue cloth ; Miss Michael, French grey; Miss McCormack, Adelaide, navy tailored costume; Miss L. Starrs, grey crepe de chine ; Miss Teresa McNamara, Scotch plaid; Miss Maggie Michael, cream serge; Miss Janie Mildrem, grey cashmere. One long table was arranged to seat one hundred guests in the enclosed side of an expansive verandah, which was exquisitely decorated in a most novel manner. From the roof inverted floral umbrellas were suspended, from which hung huge and small wedding bells, uniquely decorated with all symbols of good luck. A schema of large and small baskets, the latter suspended by long green trailors, hung from the roof at regular intervals—these were filled with choice blooms,—the coloring throughout shaded beautifully from mauve and rose to white. The walls were draped with curtains, festooned with asparagus fern and almond blossoms, while trails of delicate colored paper en suite interlaced the whole ceiling and corners. The effect was as of fairyland, and worthy of the emanating genius of a skilled artist. The toast of the day—Bride and Bridegroom—was proposed by Rev. Father Ryan, who spoke highly of the virtues of the bride, having known her a number of years. The bridegroom ably responded in well chosen terms, and proposed The Bridesmaids; Mr Peter Butler, supported by Mr Vincent McCormack, responding. The Parents was submitted by Mr Jos. Kelly, who was supported by Mr Dennis Madigan and Mr Clifford. Mr and Mrs McCormack’s generosity, general good fellowship to all around them; Mrs McCormack’s gracious assistance in times of sickness ; Mr McCormack’s justice in decisions as a J.P., were among the deserving eulogies. Mr McCormack responded. The Ladies was submitted by Mr T. Evans, Mr L. McCormack responding. Mr Dennis McCormack submitted Our Pastor—Rev. Father Ryan, who rose amid cheers and thanked them. The bride and bridegroom left by motor during the afternoon en route for the city, the bride wearing navy coat mid skirt, with squirrel furs and electric blue hat. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a handsome aquamarine, necklet; the bride’s to bridegroom, gold watch chain; A handsome silver manicure set, presented by the girl friends of the bride on the occasion of a social tendered her the previous Friday evening, was among the many pretty and costly present received."

"HAREN—NOONAN.
St. Killian's Church, Caltowie, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Wednesday morning, September 9, when the marriage of Gertrude, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Haren, of Caltowie, to Cornelius (Con), second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Noonan, of Hornsdale, was solemnised.. The Rev. Father Henschke officiated. The church was prettily decorated by the friends of the bride. Mrs. D. Blunsden officiated at the organ, and a combined choir from St. Killian's Church, Caltowie, and St. James' Church, Jamestown, rendered the Mass. At the Offertory Miss Gertrude Erwin sang Gounod's "Ave Maria." The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a sweet frock of ivory white marocain, styled in very low-waisted fashion with accordion-pleated georgette, front panel en suite. She wore a tulle bridal veil, trimmed with orange blossom and held with silver ribbon bands, and carried a shower bouquet. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss K. Haren, as first bridesmaid, and she wore a smart frock of ripple designed marocain in wood shade, trimmed with a large gold rose at the waist, and a medium sized black hat, trimmed with a floral spray. Miss Molly Noonan, sister of the bridegroom, acted as second bridesmaid, and was frocked in a dress of saxe blue crepe-de-chene, with accordion-pleated tunic effect, and finished with a deep cream georgette jabot at the neck, black hat trimmed with floral spray.- Both bridesmaids carried a bouquet of sweet peas and fern. Mr. Hilary Noonan supported his brother as best man, and Mr. Terence Haren (bride's brother) was groomsman. After the ceremony about eighty guests attended the reception held in the Soldiers Memorial Hall. The Rev. Father Henschke presided, and the usual toasts were honored. Musical items, recitations, and dancing were indulged in until the happy couple left per motor car for their honeymoon. Mrs. Timothy Haren (bride's mother) was dressed in navy fine serge, braided, and wore a black and gold hat. Mrs. John Noonan (bridegroom's mother) wore a navy gabardine frock and a black and gold hat. The bride's travelling costume was of navy gabardine with scarlet leather trimmings, hat en suite, and a black fur choker (the gift of the bridegroom). The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a set of xylonite brushes. Several congratulatory telegrams were received by the bride and bridegroom, also a large number of fine gifts, including a number of cheques and a sacred picture from the Children of Mary (of which the bride was a member)."

"Griffin—Noonan
ST. Killian's Church, at Caltowie, was the scene of a very pretty wedding when the marriage of Mary Kathleen, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Noonan, Caltowie, to Desmond William, only son of Mr. and the late Mrs. Griffin, Appila, was celebrated with Nuptial Mass on September 30. Rev. Fr. Lonergan officiated, assisted by the Rev. Fr. Moore, S.J. The bride looked very beautiful as she entered the church on the arm of her father, to the strains of the wedding march played by Mrs. H. Hartwig. The bride's frock was of satin, brocaded in silver lame leaf pattern, with a fitting bodice with high neckline and long-fitting sleeves. A bustle attached to waist line helped to finish the beautiful skirt, which merged into a long train. The silk tulle veil was held in place by satin juliet cap. A bouquet of white lilies and roses was carried.
The bride was attended by her three cousins, Misses Maureen Haren, Marie Featherstonhaugh and Ann Noonan, all wearing dainty pale blue organdie frocks, appliqued in white lace, with lace edged frills around neckline and hem. Matching small blue hats trimmed with hand-made flowers were worn with blue mittens. The flowers were held in place with darker blue satin ribbon. Posies of pink and blue mixed flowers with blue satin ribbon completed a very pretty toilette. The bridesmaids wore blue pendants, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom's brother-in-law, Francis Clarke, acted as best man. Gerald Griffin and Kevin Reichstein, cousins of the bridegroom, were groomsmen. During Mass, Mrs. F. Martin rendered a solo Ave Maria, and Mrs. J. Smith and Mrs. J. Haren sang "Nearer, Still Nearer." As well, hymns were sung by the St. Killian's choir. The bride's mother wore a frock of black. The bodice of marquisette was beautifully braided in black silk, over which was worn a silver fox collar adorned with a spray of lovely pink orchids. A smart black hat was underlined in blue grosgrain, and blue gloves were worn. Mrs. F. Clarke, sister of the bridegroom, wore a smart blue suit and pink shoulder spray. The accessories worn were of navy blue. The reception was held in Caltowie Memorial Hall, which was beautifully decorated in pastel shades. The usual toasts were honored, and congratulatory telegrams read. The uncle of the bride, Mr. Jim Noonan, carried out his duty as M.C. in a capable manner. The bride chose for her travelling frock dusty pink with burgundy accessories. The happy couple left for an extended honeymoon in Tasmania. Mr. and Mrs. Griffin's future home will be in Appila."

"MYATT—HAREN
FOR her marriage to Mr. Brian Myatt, of Georgetown, at St. Killian's Church, Caltowie, on Saturday, February 20, Miss Maureen Haren, of Caltowie, wore a charming crinoline frock of white French-embroidered organdie over slipper satin. The frock was styled with a Queen Anne neckline, long sleeves, tapering to a peak over the wrists and buttoned to the elbow, nipped-in waistline peaked at the back, and a very full skirt merging into a long train. The bride carried a beautiful sheath of white gladioli, miniature dahlias and fern. Two bridesmaids, Rita and Rhonda, and a miniature bridesmaid, Betty— all sisters of the bride—were frocked alike in French-embroidered organdie in pastel shades of lemon, mauve and green over white slipper satin. Their frocks had fitting bodices with very full skirts, over which was a nylon tulle coat of the same color, trimmed with satin ribbon. Their matching picture hats were of embroidered organdie and corn straw. They wore nylon mittens trimmed with satin ribbon to match the coats, and all carried bouquets of gladioli, miniature dahlias and fern. Mr. Leo Myatt and Mr. Kevin Myatt, brothers of the bridegroom, were best man and groomsman respectively. The church was beautifully decorated with gladioli, hydrangeas and autumn leaves by friends of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. P. Haren entertained about 150 guests at a reception in the supper room, where the usual toasts were honored. Rev. Fr. Prendergast acted as master of ceremonies. A large number of telegrams were read by the best man. The bride's mother chose a frock of powder-blue, with matching bolero, blue hat and burgundy accessories. Her shoulder spray consisted of a red rose and blue gladioli. The bridegroom's mother wore a black ensemble with black accessories and a shoulder spray of blackboy roses. Her black hat was relieved with white. For travelling the bride chose a suit of dawn pink mogashel linen, trimmed with French cornelli work. The peg skirt had a padded hip-line. She wore black shoes and mauve accessories and a small matching hat trimmed with mauve flowers. Her shoulder spray was also mauve. They spent the honeymoon motoring to Melbourne and other parts of Victoria."

"BROWNE — HAREN
The marriage of Ann Theresa, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Haren, of Kilkenny, and Kevin, only son of Mrs. B. and the late Mr. T. Browne, of Royal Park, was solemnised with Nuptial Mass at St. Laurence's Church, North Adelaide, on October 30 by Rev. Fr. W. Russell. The bride, who was given away by her father, carried a mother-of-pearl missal and a trailer of orchids and lily-of-the-valley. She was dressed in a white patterned brocade gown, made with long sleeves and medici collar. Tiny buttons trimmed the front of the bodice and the full skirt fell into a long train. A dainty short tulle veil with a pearl tiara was worn, also the bridegroom's gift, an opal bracelet. The bride's attendants, her friend, Mrs. Maurice Cook, and her cousin, Miss Margaret Meaney, were frocked in blue and pink patterned faille brocade respectively. They wore small matching feather hats and carried beautiful sprays of orchids, carnations and fern, and wore the bridegroom's gifts of pearl chokers. The bridegroom was attended by his cousin, Mr. Bryan Gill, and friend, Mr. Maurice James. The bride's mother wore an ensemble of blue grass crepe-de-chine, a small benedictine straw hat, and black accessories. She wore a spray of roses. A junior navy linen suit with pink blouse, navy hat trimmed with pink, navy accessories, and a shoulder spray of pink carnations were worn, by the bridegroom's mother.
