Michael Patrick PILKINGTON was born in September of 1884 and was the 3rd child of William Patrick PILKINGTON and Catherine Mary HAREN. Catherine died either during childbirth or shortly afterwards on the 15th of September 1884 in Yongala, South Australia. This puts Michael Patrick PILKINGTON's birth around the 15th of September 1884.

Michael died on the 5th of June 1946. He left his home, located about six miles from Jamestown, around 6:45am to bring in the cows. After not returning by 7:45am his eighteen year old son Leon went out to search and found his father under a tree, badly injured but still alive. Michael's face was covered with blood, his clothes torn, and was described as being "dazed". There were no witnesses to the event, but it was believed he was attacked by a bull while attending to the cows. He was rushed to Jamestown Hospital but died shortly after admission from his injuries. He was sixty one years and about nine months old.
